Your army is trapped beyond the edge of reality, on a battlefield shaped like chess but ruled by something far stranger. The only path back home lies through the enemy King, but the board is falling apart turn by turn as wormholes devour the tiles around you.
Checklypse! is a tactical chess deckbuilder about control, sacrifice, and survival. Move your pieces using familiar chess rules, then twist the battlefield with time-and-space cards that let you reposition, delay, protect, or break the rules for one crucial moment.
Outplay the enemy, destroy their forces, and end the King before the last square vanishes.
Space Jam Theme: Space and Time
Checklypse! interprets the Space and Time theme through a collapsing chessboard trapped inside a broken universe.
Space is represented through shifting positions, wormholes, disappearing tiles, and battlefield control. Time is represented through cards that reverse, delay, freeze, or alter the consequences of each move.
Each turn pushes the board closer to destruction, forcing players to think not only about where their pieces are now, but where the battlefield will still exist later.
THE COUNTDOWN TO COLLAPSE

Every move brings the board closer to destruction.
As the counter fills, the battlefield becomes more unstable. When it reaches its limit, a Blackhole will emerge and begin eating away the chessboard, tile by tile.
Move fast. Think faster.
The longer you take, the less space you have left to survive.
CONTROL
Left Click (Mouse) = Perform actions (select/move pieces, play cards, and click UI buttons).
Right Click (Mouse) = Cancel actions (deselect pieces, cancel card targeting, or skip wormhole teleportation).
TILES
| TILES | DESCRIPTION |

![]() | Any piece that passes through this tile is forced to stop here, and on its next move, it can only move up to a maximum of 3 tiles. |

![]() | If a piece stops here, it can move to another Wormhole Tile. |
![]() | A tile that grants protection for 1 turn while a piece is on it. |
CARDS
| CARDS | ACTION |
| REVERSE MOVE | Choose 1 non-King piece that moved during the previous turn. That piece returns to the last tile it occupied. If the destination tile is occupied, missing, or invalid, this card cannot be used. |
| SWITCH POSITION | Choose 1 non-King piece, then choose another piece within a 3-tile radius. Swap the positions of both pieces. Cannot target the King. |
| OUT OF TIMELINE | Choose 1 of your non-King pieces. Until the start of your next turn, that piece cannot be captured or targeted by enemy effects. The piece cannot capture, but it can still move. Other pieces may pass through this piece, but its tile still cannot be occupied by another piece. |
| TIME SKIP | Choose 1 enemy non-King piece. During the next enemy response phase, that piece cannot move or capture. |
| TIME STOP | Choose up to 2 tiles. Until the start of your next turn, those tiles become Stable and cannot be destroyed by a Blackhole. Any piece on those tiles is also not destroyed by the Blackhole as long as it remains on that tile. |
| BLINK STEP | Choose 1 of your non-King pieces. On its next movement, that piece may pass through up to 1 piece blocking its movement path. If there is an enemy piece immediately after the passed piece, that enemy piece is captured. The piece’s normal movement pattern must still be followed. If the path passes through a Gravity Tile, the movement stops on the Gravity Tile. |
| PARADOX | Choose 1 of your non-King pieces. That piece may capture 1 enemy non-King piece within its attack pattern without changing position. The attack path must still be valid and unobstructed. After that, the piece cannot move or capture on its next turn. |
| AGE DOWN | Choose 1 enemy non-King and non-Pawn piece. Until the start of your next turn, that piece transforms into a piece one tier weaker based on this order: Queen → Rook → Bishop → Knight → Pawn. |
| REWIND WOUND | Restore 3 HP to the King. This cannot exceed the maximum HP. |
| GRAVITY NUDGE | Choose 1 non-King piece. Slide that piece 1 tile horizontally or vertically to a valid empty tile. This movement cannot be used to capture and cannot move into an invalid area. |
